How did your interests, education, and career path lead you to Zartico and the type of work that you do?

Growing up, my life was filled with diverse interests that, looking back, shaped my journey to Zartico and the work I do today.

From a young age, I embraced the balance of academia and extracurricular activities. Competitive swimming was a central part of my youth, providing not only physical challenges but also invaluable lessons in teamwork, discipline, and resilience. I found another passion in showing horses during the spring and summer months. The experience of forming a partnership with these magnificent animals taught me patience, empathy, and the art of building trust-based relationships.

Throughout my formative years, I was fortunate to have inspiring role models: my parents, my sister, and trainers and coaches who instilled in me a strong work ethic and a drive for excellence. Their guidance and mentorship shaped my aspirations and fueled my ambition to pursue meaningful and impactful work.

As I navigated through my education, I developed a keen interest in startups and the dynamic challenges and opportunities they present. This fascination led me to pursue a degree in marketing, business administration, and entrepreneurship.

I found my way to Zartico after exploring the corporate world with a Fortune 200 company and exciting tech-based startups in logistics, oil and gas, and staffing. Zartico is where my passion for teamwork, innovation, and strategic thinking converge. I can leverage my skills and experiences to drive positive change, helping businesses and communities thrive in an increasingly complex and interconnected world.

If you weren’t doing this work, what do you think you would be doing instead?

I'd likely find myself in another field where I could satisfy my passion for gathering, analyzing, and uncovering insights — private investigation. The prospect of piecing together information, solving mysteries, and finding answers to complex questions intrigues me. It's a profession that demands critical thinking, attention to detail, and a knack for connecting the dots — all skills that align with my strengths and interests.

However, if I considered a drastic departure from my professional path and won the lottery… I would fulfill a lifelong dream of opening a sanctuary dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating horses and cocker spaniels, with a special focus on senior animals.

Where do you go to learn or to find inspiration? Are there any people, books, podcasts, activities, etc. that are capturing your attention lately?

I find solace and rejuvenation in nature and the company of animals. Spending time in serene environments, surrounded by the beauty of the outdoors and the calming presence of animals, never fails to uplift my spirits and ignite my creativity.

I also thrive on adventure and exploration. Whether skiing down a snow-covered slope, zipping through treetops, hiking along rugged trails, or embarking on a leisurely horseback ride, I'm drawn to experiences that offer breathtaking views and the thrill of discovery.

When I'm not immersed in outdoor pursuits, I enjoy books that challenge and inspire me. Recent reads like Atomic Habits by James Clear, How to Be the Most Interesting Person in the Room by Jessica Hagy, and Extreme Ownership by Jocko Willink and Leif Babin have provided valuable insights into personal growth, leadership, and maximizing potential.

Lastly, I find inspiration in conversations with like-minded individuals, exploring new perspectives and ideas. By surrounding myself with diverse sources of knowledge and inspiration, I'm able to stay motivated, curious, and open to new opportunities for growth and learning.

Tell us about a place you love — what do you love about it, and what would you tell someone who is planning to visit for the first time?

Madison, Wisconsin, holds a special place in my heart. It's a vibrant city that effortlessly balances hustle and bustle with moments of tranquility. There's always something for everyone to enjoy. Not to mention, it has four beautiful seasons.

I highly recommend experiencing the energy and excitement of Camp Randall Stadium, particularly during a Badgers football game. The atmosphere is electric, and there's nothing quite like cheering on the team alongside fellow fans.

For those seeking a more laid-back experience, a leisurely stroll along University Terrace overlooking picturesque Lake Mendota is a must. It's the perfect spot to unwind with a good book while soaking in the stunning views and serene ambiance. The people-watching is pretty good, too!

What truly sets Madison apart is its sense of community and inclusivity. The city embraces diversity and offers a rich tapestry of cultural experiences, from its eclectic food scene to its vibrant arts and music festivals.

What is your “bucket list” travel destination?

One that stands out is riding the Rocky Mountaineer through the breathtaking landscapes of Canada. This iconic train journey offers an unparalleled opportunity to explore some of the most awe-inspiring destinations in the Canadian Rockies, including Whistler, Quesnel, and Jasper.

While in Whistler I’d seek thrilling skiing and breathtaking mountain vistas. Quesnel draws me for its historic charm and cultural treasures, and while exploring Jasper National Park I would seek majestic peaks, pristine lakes, and diverse wildlife.
